From Visvim's artisanal sub-label, Indigo Camping Trailer, comes the Iris Liner Vest in geen The Iris Liner Vest takes inspiration from the military M51 parka liner vest, but adds a Japanese twist to the classic outerwear piece. It has a slim fit, reversible design, zipper front closure, and two slanted pockets on either side. The vest is constructed using a hemp fabric for the shell that has been stencil dyed by hand using an ancient Japanese dyeing technique called Katazome. The process consists of placing a stencil on top of a fabric and a colored paste is applied using a tracing spatula. This process is repeated for each square and then fabric is steamed to bond the paste, which creates the checkered pattern shown with each square being unique to one another. Both the dyeing and the creating of the stencil paper require a high level of technique and time to complete. Additional details include a rayon lining, polyester filling, Swiss RIRI zipper, cotton herringbone piping along the collar, zipper, and cuffs, a polyester filling, cotton herringbone pocket lining, button holes used for attaching as a liner inside an accommodating coat, and a vintage indigo dyed Japanese kofu fabric patch.
