A 1950’s bracelet that belonged to my grandmother. I begged her for it when I was young and she finally relented! Sadly I can’t wear it anymore as it’s too large so I would love to find a new owner to cherish it It really is an absolutely spectacular example of Toledo Damascene work - the gilt metal design features a bull’s head and detailed black on gilt work using the famous damascene technique - a centuries old art form originating from Toledo, Spain. Granny Beatrice visited Spain many times so would have bought this on one of her trips. The method involves inlaying gold or silver onto a darkened steel or metal surface to create intricate patterns. The bull is synonymous with the cultural heritage of Spain and it’s a really rare and collectible example in fantastic condition for its age - it’s 75 years old! The only small thing is that the safety chain is missing (taken into consideration when pricing) but the clasp is incredibly firm, it really fits tightly. This is a wearable piece of art. Bracelet length: 19.5cm fit Will be sent boxed
