The French perfume house of Eight & Bob has its roots in the early twentieth century. Albert Fouquet, the son of an aristocrat, experimented with new fragrances to impress members of society. Despite their popularity, he refused to market his fragrances until a chance encounter with John F. Kennedy in 1937. Impressed by the unique fragrance, Jfk requested eight samples plus one more for an unidentified "Bob." Fouquet named the cologne in honor of the unusual request.
