Stunning Buddhist Tibetan Nepalese brooch of a Dog of Fo, or Foo Dog, a combination deity who is a Guardian featuring the 'jarao' inlay technique, combining stones and glass set in cloisons, and filigree wire decoration.

Brooch is gilded, and appears to be brass with turquoise glass, and the coral parts appear to be a combination of glass and coral. The stones are held in by black pitch, a very old technique. There is discoloration on the background in areas, as is to be expected on very old pieces.

The clasp is a very primitive C-clasp, making this brooch only to be worn on thick clothing, otherwise it will not close properly. can also be woen as a pendant on a necklace.
