This is an antique pressed glass covered candy dish/compote featuring a diamond point pattern and a decorative brass pinecone finial on the lid. Unlike the later 1970s Indiana Glass “Mount Vernon” reproductions, this piece contains manganese, which was used as a glass clarifier in the early 1900s–1930s. Because of this, the glass has the unique quality of glowing a soft orange-pink under UV/blacklight.

Later Mount Vernon pieces do not glow this way, making this an authentic earlier manganese example.
• Material: Pressed manganese glass
• Design: Diamond point / quilted pattern
• Finial: Brass pinecone finial on lid

• Size: 6” high (to top of finial) x 5” wide
• UV Reactive: Glows orange-pink under 365’ blacklight (see photos)
• Condition: Excellent vintage condition, no chips or cracks
