Antique Dutch 18th C Sterling Silver Snuff / Peppermint Box 1883 Hallmarks

This is a beautiful antique Dutch sterling silver box dating to the 18th century, later engraved on the base with:
“Dutch 18th Century, G.G. Pearse 1883”

The box is richly decorated with detailed repoussé scenes of classical figures in pastoral settings. The lid features a central seated figure surrounded by floral and scrollwork designs.

It is finely crafted and showcases the artistry of Dutch silversmiths of the period.

Hallmarks on the underside above the engraving “Dutch 18th Century G.G. Pearse 1883”:

A small keyhole or dagger-like symbol (to the left).

A shield-shaped cartouche with what looks like a letter or emblem inside (to the right).
