Lourioux Le Faune Songbird Motif Porcelain Baking/Casserole Dish from the 1920’s. Made in France at the famous Buchon Porcelain Factory where Louis Lourioux did his beautiful art works out of baking grade glazed porcelain adorned with art work like these 7 song birds pictured as part of this heavily glazed Porcelain. There is not much Lourioux Le Faune Dish Ware around became Louis Lourioux died in 1930 at age 35 in a car accident, having only started in business in the early 1920’s. Bottom of dish is marked with a smudged Logo and Signature of “Le Faune L Lourioux Made in France.” This hard to read marking is indicative of 1920’s Lourioux work. From the 1930’s to World War 2, Louis Lourioux‘ wife ran the business and the signature and Logo was etched in a readable style. Dimensions at top 11 1/2” by 7 5/8”, 2” tall. Bottom dimensions are 9 3/4” by 6”. In the 1920’s this was called a “Decorative Fireproof Porcelain Baking Dish.” Song Birds are a transfer design. Gold rims, hand painted
