Antique Country General Store Dye Cabinet The Country Store Dye Cabinet is marked on each side in gold lettering: "BUTTERFLY TINTS Cold Water Dyes For Cotton Silk Wool Feathers Braids Laces Etc 10 cts".
The cabinet has two (2) wood doors in the front which is secured closed with a wing nut. The doors are warped ... probably from being left open and unable to be secured.
The cabinet is approx. 12 1/2" wide by 4 1/2" deep by 14 1/2" tall.
Made by the Butterfly Tinting Company of Minneapolis, Minnesota.
This was found very dirty stored improperly in a old garage and needed repair. I scrubbed and used glue, new nails and screws. Used spray lacquer as well. It still does has a old wood / dirt / ? smell. There are areas of missing wood and loose nails and other signs of wear. I "fixed it up" enough to display but it's far from perfect.
