Great condition except for back lining. 12”x15” frame and 10”x7” picture. Came from my grandpas estate. Vintage hand-colored etching titled "Barbizon" by French artist Marcel Jacque, dated July 17, 1951. Marcel Jacque (1906-1981) was a painter and printmaker, known for his etchings and association with the Barbizon School. The Barbizon School was a group of artists active in the mid-19th century who focused on realistic landscape painting, often working outdoors. Jacque was the grandson of Charles Jacque, one of the founders of the Barbizon School.
The etching depicts a scene in Barbizon, a village near the Fontainebleau Forest in France, which was a central location for the Barbizon School artists.
Amazing piece for the collector at a great price
