Nature Engraving Salmon Carp Ca. 1840

This is an authentic antique engraving published by naturalist Sir Wm. Jardine between 1833 and 1843. The hand colored "Salmon Carp" was originally published in the Ichthyology volumes of "The Naturalist's Library". The print measures 6 3/8 in. x 4 in. without the mat. Included is the original description of the illustrated species published along with the print. You can find other Jardine's for sale, but not with the description page(s) attached. (Note from Davis Galleries erroneously refers to the print as a lithograph.) Print is in excellent condition with no tears, folds, or stains; there is minor edge foxing. The double mat is optional and measures 10" x 12¼". To purchase the mat also for $10., which covers the mat and the extra shipping, pls msg me.
