4 Lenox Olympia Gold Bread & Butter Plates, Made in U.S.A., Retired Pattern

Offered are 4 bread & butter plates in the Olympia Gold pattern. These gorgeous gold-trimmed plates were crafted by Lenox in the U.S.A. in the gorgeous ivory colored fine china that Lenox is known for. This classic patten was produced from 1952 – 1982 and when introduced in 1952 was considered ultra-modern because of its coupe shape. These plates provide a beautiful yet understated example of midcentury china design and might be considered to fit within the minimalist category.

The plates are in nice vintage condition with no chips, cracks, repairs, stains, or crazing and only light bottom wear. Resulting from age and use, there are very few, very light, utensil marks that become visible when turned to the light just so, the worst of which is shown in a photo.

Because of the gold trimmed rim these plates should not be considered safe for the microwave. Some claim that they are safe for the dishwasher, but IMO hand washing would likely be the best option.
