Offered is a Harmony House, ironstone, chop plate (4270) crafted by Nikko, Japan, in their Blue Bonnet pattern for Sears, Roebuck & Co. This discontinued pattern dates from about 1965 (when Sears sold just about everything!) and features blue flowers and leaves on white and a scalloped rim. The plate is in nice vintage condition with no chips, cracks, repairs, crazing, or bottom wear observed. There are faint utensil marks that are barely seen unless turned to the light just so.
Diameter of this hefty plate is 12-1/4” and height is about 1-3/8.” It is dishwasher safe. There are a couple of small bumps on the back of the plate that are typical of the manufacturing process, and the resulting glaze loss, which are shown in the photos.
This would make a great replacement piece or an addition to a unique mix-and-match set. It would be perfect for everyday use. IMO, this pattern is reminiscent of, and would pair nicely with, the popular and collectible Blue Onion patterned serving ware.
