First edition, first printing hardcover copy of Health & Its Maintenance: A Hygiene Text for Women by Bertha Stuart Dyment (Stanford University Press, 1931). A unique and vintage book with what was commonly accepted as recommended health and hygiene for women at the beginning of the 20th century. An interesting snapshot of medicine and education at the time. Some faint discoloration to top half of front cover and mild wear elsewhere to covers, especially around the edges. Corners bumped. Binding is firm and spine is straight. Faint “40” written on front end paper and some very sparse margin marks to text. Spotty discoloration to top outer edge of text block near spine.
