Vintage Decorative Collector Plate entitled "Die Baurernhochzeit" ("The Framer's Wedding") part of the Luckel's Idyllic Village Life series by the celebrated German Romantic Realist artist Christian Luckel. Issued under the hallmark Seltmann,Weiden/Oberpfalz, a German porcelain manufacturer known for its quality dinnerware and collector plates. Measures 7 1/2" in diameter. The reverse of the plate's translation reads "The Peasant Wedding. This is plate number B7589 in an edition beginning in 1987 and limited to 75 firing days. Ninth plate in Luckel's idyllic village life series. The friendship and tradition of a country wedding demonstrates the strong sense of family of the people I paint." The scene exquisitely details a scene of a 19th-century German village life in Bavaria. Plate comes with a certificate of authenticity and a description in both English and German in the original box.
