This vintage oil well pumping unit is made of brass and is battery operated. It is a desk top conversation piece and has a wooden base. The 2-AA batteries go into the bottom of the wooden base. This belonged to my late husband and was on his shelf for as long as I can remember. I couldn't find any markings on it, but I think it is probably from the 1950's. I put batteries in it, but it didn't work, it looks like a simple unit and might just need some contact spray, I priced it accordingly.
