Caroline of Brunswick-Wolfenbüttel was born on 17 May 1768 and married her cousin George, Prince of Wales, in 1795. This token commemorates both of those dates
The Princess of Wales was estranged from her husband (have you heard this before) and was living in Italy when she became Queen Consort in 1820. She died on 7 August 1821 just 3 weeks after the Coronation of her husband, King George IV.

George IV was widely despised, while Caroline was quite popular with the people. There is no reason to believe that this token was privately minted in 1795. I would figure it to be sometime in 1820, when her title as Queen Consort was nearly guaranteed, or even as late as 1821 as a posthumous tribute to her.

This piece grades AU50 and is the finest I have found on the internet.

I have hundreds of tokens, and a keyword search for TKxyz1 will show you only my tokens. No clutter from the poor Merc algorithm. :-)
