Vintage bottle clad in leather showcasing cattle brands.
Three sides each have a different cattle brand, each with their own character. One matches up with the “quien sabe” brand generated by the relationship between the US and Mexico. The fourth side reads “Brandy”, which is more likely to refer to the bottle contents than a person!
The stopper is made out of cork with similar leather cladding and a brass rivet.
The 9 1/4" X 3 1/4" X 3 1/4" glass bottle's dimensions follow a pharmacy bottle more than any traditional alcohol shape, suggesting an earlier date from medicinal "tonics" as part of its origins. It's clear glass.
There is one spot on the bottom and one on the shoulder where the leather is worn through.
An unusual design for these kinds of travel-proof bottles compared to other countries and contexts! If you have information about mass production that impacts pricing, please share in a comment. Thanks!
