VINTAGE ART DECO 1940'S ELZAC CERAMIC COPPER TRIBAL MASK FACE PIN BROOCH
The history of Elzac jewelry began in 1940 when Eliot and Ruth Handler, alongside with their partner Zachary Zemby, founded their company Elzac (Eliot + Zachary). Headquartered in Los Angeles, the company used innovative materials such as ceramic, lucite, fur, feathers, cloth, and wood in unusual, whimsical ways. Incorporated in 1940, Elzac California Jewelry & Gift Ware ceased to exist in 1947.
This striking copper-plated brooch features blue-green glazed ceramic face with headdress and dangle earrings. In wonderful condition. I do not see any chips or scratches to ceramic. Copper looks great with very little wear; see pics. Only a few areas of faint tarnish specks; see pics. Measures: 1" x 2-1/2".
