There is no significant damage to the book itself - only a small tear hole at the 1st opening - almost 1/2 way on the inner spine. The small tear-hole does not extend deeper into the pages. All other pages are intact with no writings, marks, or stains. There are no rips, tears, or holes to book itself other than mentioned.
The original dust jacket and slipcase do show expected shelf wear. Note the vintage brown mark on the back of the dusk jacket. Both the slipcase and the dust jacket provide the intended function of protection.
This book is a wonderful resource and comprehensive publication with vivid miniatures from Byzantine manuscripts in the monastic libraries of Mount Athos. Enjoy!
