Original Barbie’s Dream House by Mattel #816, first issued in 1962.
Welcome to Barbie’s first home, a fold-out cardboard studio apartment designed with stylish mid-century decor. This groundbreaking set gave Barbie her own modern “bachelorette pad,” complete with furniture, books, artwork, and even a media center with a TV console and record player.
Features colorful lithographed walls and floors as well as movable cardboard furniture pieces.
When folded up, there are two metal toggle clips that keep it closed as well as a carrying handle.
This item has a bit of wear as expected from a 60+ year-old cardboard toy. Furniture pieces and interior graphics remain colorful and display well. When folded, the "box" shows stains, scuffs, writing (pencil), and wear (especially along the edges). There is damage to the feet/legs of many of the pieces of furniture and nearly every piece has an "M" or "Mimi" written underneath it (ink).
