Corning Microwave Brown and Sear Dish 8.5", Heartbeat/Pulse/EKG Pattern. Encouraging people to be more "heart-healthy" and stop eating fried foods, Corning made their Searing Dish. This dish was made for browning foods in the microwave, thus no greasy fried foods. I am pretty sure that is why the "heartbeat" pattern was put on the dish. This dish, with the Pyrex glass lid, is in very good, clean condition with no damage. It measures 8 1/2" x 8 1/2".
The Corning Brown 'n Serve line of products contain a special coating on the underside that absorbs microwave energy when pre-heated that browns food during cooking for added color and flavor. Microwave Use Only. If used in oven or stovetop could damage the special coating.
