Our hand painted ceramic dog bowl uses the entire Talavera palette to create magnificent images on it. They feature patterns and shapes influenced by traditional Talavera & Majolica art. Our dog bowls are baked twice in a high fire kiln at 1200-1500 degrees Fahrenheit. The second bake is to coat the bowl with a protective glaze to ensure the food can be served safely.

The Talavera style is a popular Mexican style used by artisans in Puebla, Tlaxcala, Atlisco, Cholula, and Tecali. The signature colors of this Mexican style are usually blue and white, but artisans have added yellow, black, green, orange and lilac to the style palette. The palette is made of natural pigments to obtain shades suitable for pottery.
