HUSKERS VS. LOBOS
TODAY: Nebraska closes out its season-opening four-game homestand and the non-conference portion of its 1985 schedule as the Huskers host the University of New Mexico Lobos of the Western Athletic Conference. Coach Tom Osborne's crew comes into October with a 2-1 record and seems to have bounced back nicely from its opening 17-13 loss to Florida State here four weeks ago. In their last two outings, the Huskers have romped past Illinois, 52-25, and Oregon, 63-0, as the offense has piled up 1,155 yards in total offense, helped mightily by an opportunistic defense that has intercepted four passes in each of the last two games while forcing five more turnovers on fumbles.
Last week, the Black Shirts gave up just 106 total offense yards in recording the shutout of Oregon- a team which came in averaging 430.7 yards and 34.7 points per game.
