These are tall geta (wooden clogs).
There was a small factory nearby that specialized in making geta for a long time, until about 50 years ago.
The geta, made using local wood, were comfortable to wear and were loved by not only local residents but also people from within and outside the prefecture.
The main body of these tall geta is made of paulownia wood.
The teeth (the raised part) seem to use a harder wood than paulownia to provide durability, due to the special nature of tall geta.
Although they have not been used, they are old items, so there are small chips, marks, and rust.
Please be aware of this.
