Signed Native American hand drum made by Red Shirt Reyna, a highly regarded artisan from Taos Pueblo NM, in 1984. His work is included in the Smithsonian Museum of the American Indian. The two-sided hand drum is made from a hollowed tree trunk with stretched leather hide. It is in excellent vintage condition with taut skins and it sound excellent. It measures approximately 12” across and 6” high. It is signed in faded red letters “To Matthew Red Shirt Taos Pueblo”. No beater included. Provenance-The drum was purchased directly from Red Shirt by a family member in 1984.
