First edition, first printing hardcover copy of Confessions of an Advertising Man by David Ogilvy (Atheneum, 1963). Hard to find true first edition of this landmark business memoir of a marketing and advertising visionary. A standard business / economics book. Price clipped jacket now protected in new (removable) archival sleeve but with moderate wear to faces and heavy wear around the edges, including chipping, creases and tears. The jacket itself actually unfolds and reveals images/articles on the interior side and is the explanation for why white can be seen beneath the tear on the bottom edge of the front cover. Some larger tears have been taped together on reverse side. Boards are straight and clean but with corners bumped. Cocked spine and a few instances of mildly split binding, though hinges remain secure and binding is fairly strong on the whole. All pages clean and unmarked save for faint blemish to top outer edge of text block and general tanning of pages. See photos.
