Rare Vintage Wolf Creek Jonah and the Whale hand crafted and painted wood figure based on the story in the Old Testament. You turn the crank on the top of the whale and it pulls Jonah into the whale's mouth.
Wolf Creek Woodworking was a family owned toy factory that manufactured wooden toys and other primitive wooden art objects in the late 1970's through the mid to late 1990s. The factories were located in Beaman and Eldora, Iowa. The Wolf Creek Woodworking company was noted for employing mostly retired area natives known as the "Elderly Elves". These Grandpas and Grandmas hand built a variety of solid wood, primitive and folk art objects.
The "Elderly Elves" worked diligently to provide wood-crafted folk art objects and primitive wooden pieces that could be used and cherished for generations. Most of the pieces are signed by the artist who crafted and painted each individual piece.
