These vintage Bhutanese Pice-Numista coin earrings circulated from 1951-1954 & are made of copper. They hang from French ear wires with bead accents. Beautiful & fascinating from every angle, they are definitely a conversation piece, especially if you are familiar with the auspicious symbols of Buddhism. Bhutanese Pice coins are bought & traded all over the world. These earrings have some discoloration simply from age, adding to their allure.
FRONT SIDE:
Square in center, three sections with buddha, symbols and one with letter “sa” (earth) Language is Tibetan.
REVERSE SIDE: Symbols in eight segments surround Bhutanese legend in the center. Symbols (from top left going clockwise):
