Elgin American carry all compact
1940-1959
Elgin American carry all compact in gold tone metal with blue floral decorative design on the lid. It has three covered compartments, plus a section for lipstick, the metal tube doesn't appear to ever have been used. The powder compartment has a sifter and a puff (also doesn't appear to have ever been used) the lid is etched, "Elgin American, Made in USA." Another compartment has a mirrored lid. The third compartment is for incidentals. The compact comes in a black faille fabric case. The back side of the case has an envelope style pocket. 4 1/4" x 2 1/2" x1".
The compartment with the puff has a loose handle. I have the pin and the handle but it can come out.
