This fabric is the epitome of mid century modern art design. Acquired in the early 1970's, one owner since then. Extremely rare!!!
Produced by Knoll in 1967 and designed by Wolf Bauer, his "Collage" design textile panel made of lightweight silky acetate. The abstract image of a tree is printed in dazzling shades of Spring. This "collage" design was heavily influenced by the torn paper collages of Henri Matisse in the 1950s. Reads on the top "KNOLL INTERNATIONAL PRINT COLLECTION DESIGNED BY WOLF BAUER." "Made in West Germany" on the lower left.
This banner measures 57.5 inches x 27.5 inches (146 cm x 70 cm) with hand stitched rolled edges--like a high quality scarf.
There are some light tea colored stains as shown. I have not treated this in any way--comes to you AS IS. No rips, snags or tears, colors are beautifully vibrant. Never worn as a scarf/wrap, nor framed, nor tacked to the wall. Stored in a climate controlled environment, always in a smoke free home.
