Vintage springer spaniel pottery planter from 1950s. Made by Ucagco in Japan. Rare. Planter part and base have light blue glaze. Spaniel is hand painted brown and white with clear glaze. Nice detail. 4 1/2 inches high, 4 1/4 inches front to back, 5 1/2 inches long. Good vintage condition. No chips. Has 2 crack type lines on inside corners of lower planter part. These are from the manufacturing process and are typical of the time period. U-shaped line on outside corner of taller planter part, probably due to impact against something. Stone mark on inside bottom. Inside of planter has some glaze crazing from age/use. See photos. Great for anyone who loves dogs, especially spaniels. Can also be used as a vase, or on a desk to hold pens/pencils/brushes, etc.
