Title: How to be an Artist
Author: Simon Lissim
Pub Date: 1952, First Edition
Publisher: Wilfred Funk, Inc.
Pages: 212

hard cover, with unclipped dust jacket...83 wonderful illustrations...measures 9.25" H x 6.25" W

book was directed towards aspiring artists, to help discover their preferred artistic medium: watercolor, oil, pen and ink, or pencil...a practical guide for beginners covering technique, perspective and design

Ukranian born, Lissim's work is held in the collections of over 70 museums in the US and Europe, including major institutions like the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York

this book comes with an interesting piece of ephemera- the original purchase receipt (indicates book title) for $.95 from Kaufmann's (Pittsburgh PA)...but the date is wrong

book is in near fine condition- no writing or marks ...hinges are sound and binding is tight...an indentation to top of spine and a little light wear...some toning to the top of 2 pages where receipt was

DJ is very good
