Egg sized hand painted miniature Russian lacquer box in good condition. Very well detailed in rich tones with silver and gold intricate patterns. Paper machê construction, black lacquer exterior, red lacquer interior. The box is not hinged and rests flat.
Slight wear to this beautiful treasure. Suitable for display or use as a special jewelry box. A diagonal hairline crack across the cathedral dome, not visible in most lighting. A curved crack 0.5" on the side edge of the lid ending with a 2mm shallow chip. A circular 0.25" dimple on the bottom of the box with light scuffing. Overall good condition with high gilds and good color.
