OMG 82 to 87 years old. This is a charming Bronze/Copper Turquoise Blue Enamel Souvenir Wall Plate Of The Tower Of David from the Holy City. It has its war wounds but is still a beautiful piece. The plate is double serial numbered; so, this makes it even rarer than one would first think. The serial numbers show that it was hand forged, and hand machined in Jerusalem, Israel in June of 1935-(Serial # 74518) by the artist- (Lem Kabia). And then was hand stamped, hand enameled, and hand kilned in Jerusalem, Israel in December of 1940-(Serial #79407) by the artist- (Sam Kabia). I wonder if they were brothers or father/son. The serial numbers are painted on the solid bronze plate prior to kilning so they can't be washed off. It was shined with oil to keep it from turning color too fast to the natural state of reddish brown. However, because it was handmade, it shows numerous faults that makes it uniquely perfect
