Vintage Art Deco Era Rhinestone Pot Metal Dress Clip

Dress clips, created in the '20s-'30s, remained an accessory stable into the '50s. Originally they were used to accent the décolletage, clipped to the necklines of dresses, gowns or suits. The smaller clips usually came in pairs, the larger, as the one presented, in singles. They have been multi-purposed to adorn hats, scarves, lapels. belts, sashes, handbags -- nearly anything that can accommodate a clip.

The art deco era dress clip offered, circa late '30s, features large, faceted foil backed glass stones in chaton, oval and emerald cuts set into period correct pot metal with a long armed embossed clip back closure.

At approximately 2 3/8 inches x 1 5/8 inches with a 1/2 inch profile or height, the clip captures attention. The largest center rectangular cut stone is about 18 millimeters x 13 millimeters; oval cuts, approximately 12 millimeters x 9 millimeters. Weight of the clip is 28 grams.

Condition is excellent vintage. All stones original and intact, No cracks or breaks.
