The tortoise series began in 1958 with the introduction of "Papa", which also involved the use of a new glaze and given the name "Scintillite" because of its sparkling effect.
"Papa" was considered an ashtray due to his shell coming off. However, it can also be used as a trinket/ring dish. He us 4" from tip to tail and has an impressed mold mark, "WADE PORCELAIN MADE IN ENGLAND",along with the figure 1 which would indicate the mold number.
The 2 babies were introduced in 1960. The larger one measures 4"-tip to tail and the smaller one is 2"-tip to tail. Both are mold marked WADE PORCELAIN MADE IN ENGLAND.
All 3 tortoises are in great condition without and chips or cracks.
