Antique Vintage Cast Iron Ticket Fare Coin Slot Box Curved Glass Door 9" T RARE

Antique Vintage Cast Iron Ticket Fare Coin Slot Box. A rare fantastic piece of history. I am guessing this dates to around the turn of the century. However, I cannot say for sure. I am not really sure what this piece was actually used for, as I cannot find anything like it. This box has no screws that hold it together. The top and bottom hinges are what keeps it together with the glass sitting inside the door. Glass has felt at top and bottom to keep it from coming in full contact with the metal. A small lock could be placed on the opposite side of the door. There are holes or ventilation on the rear and "Pat Apl'd For". This piece has only has minor red paint loss. I believe it to be a 100+ years. In very good condition. I do not believe it housed coins as the glass is not scratched on the inside. Unless it purposely not had any coins placed in it. There are no scratches or breakage/repairs. Measures 9"T x 7 1/2" W x 3 1/4" D. Inside space 7" x 5" x 2 1/4". Weight 4 lb 8 oz.
