Conical shaped yellow amber and clear cased glass and brim cut art-object, designed by Kaj Franck in 1960, executed by the Nuutajärvi-Notsjö glassworks in 1960, an early example of this piece. 7” tall, 7” diameter. Model #KF268
No flaws.
These art-objects were made between 1955 and 1964 in four colours (green, blue, yellow and all clear glass) and three sizes (100, 165, 190 mm). This being a middle sized yellow example.
Kaj Franck worked as a freelance designer until he joined Arabia as a designer in 1945. In 1950 he became Arabia’s Artistic Director. He also designed glass-objects for Iittala between 1946 and 1950 and between 1950 and 1976 for Nuutajärvi-Notsjö glassworks.
His modernist designs in everyday tableware glass are considered to be a revolution and classic Finish design objects
