This miniature watercolor by William Welch (1947-2018) of a house on Fair Street Nantucket is from my personal collection. I purchased it directly from him at his gallery on Easy Street on Nantucket. It measures 7 1/2 Inches in width, 8 3/4 Inches in height, and 1 Inch in depth, including the frame. The actual painting measures measures 2 1/2 Inches in height and 2 1/4 Inches in width. It is behind glass and was signed in pencil which has faded. He told me this might happen and signed the back with his very distinctive initials WW. He also wrote Fair Street on the back, which is the location of the house. It is 100% authentic.
He would say “I paint souvenirs that are special memories … for the people that love Nantucket.
Please note their is a tiny mark on the mat.
