Vintage MCM Abstract Oil Painting of Sail Boats Along Dock, Signed Original

Wow! This awesome Vintage Abstract Painting is stylized so Mid-Century! Boats at docks are a subject you’ll find in lots of MCM paintings, but rarely are they abstracted, like this one. Not only do you see the typical loose and wispy lines so common in Mid-Century paintings, but this painting has heavier color “swatches” that I believe the artist means to represent other boats’ sails. The abstract boats are lined down a dock and their sails are colorful (reds, oranges, yellows, blues) and seem to blend together into a cacophony of color. At least, that’s how I see it.

This is such an eye-catching piece, I would think you would need to place it front and center in a space, making it a centerpiece. Not too much other art near it that might compete with it. It will definitely turn the heads of guests and friends. Place it somewhere fairly bright to bring out those colors. This painting measures 26 x 14 inches framed.
