BODY BUTTER Body Butter 90's Bondage Cargo Flare Denim Pants

BODY BUTTER is a women's brand established in 1996 by Maiko Sasao and Junko Kurahashi, both graduates of Bunka Fashion College.
The concept is to create clothing that is as familiar as butter and has a strong presence when worn.
After graduating from Bunka Fashion College, Sasao went to New York and signed a contract as a designer for Liquid Sky, a Brazilian street brand conceived by DJ Reizo, who was based in SoHo at the time.
Influenced by music, art, extreme sports, and the underground and rave culture inspired by Bjork and Jean Paul Gaultier, her designs became the foundation. Young famous actors and influencers were also staff at Liquid Sky, and she was favored by Patricia Field, the stylist for SEX AND THE CITY, whom she met there, becoming known within street and underground culture.
After returning to Japan, she started BODY BUTTER with Kurahashi.
They also participated in Tokyo Collection, and their edgy and avant-garde designs gained popularity, opening a shop in Daikanyama.
In 2005, they rebranded to a men's brand, but later, they were acquired by an external company, and the two resigned as designers.
Currently, they are running a company that sells pet goods and food.

This is a BODY BUTTER bondage flare denim pants.
It was a very popular brand at the shop Sculpture, which early on carried FOTUS and the London shoe brand Buffalo LONDON. Using rigid denim, the design influenced by Gaultier and rave culture features punk and fetish bondage belts as an accent, subtle cargo pockets, and two-tiered belt loops that evoke corset belts, making it a very well-crafted piece.
