In Medieval times, Whitby Jet was used as small mirrors before man invented the silvering process which is used in making mirrors today. The Whitby Jet gemstone is set into the precious metal with a slight rib running around the edge of the piece. This piece is supplied on an 18 inch sterling silver chain.
