The Intel RCS25ZB040LX is a RAID SSD cache controller that slips into a PCIe x8 Gen3 slot and gives your server faster, steadier access to frequently used data. Built for administrators who run busy virtual machines, large databases, or file-sharing services, it stores hot data in its on-board cache so applications feel more responsive and backups finish sooner.

Inside the controller, a dual-core ROC processor works with 1 GB of DDR3 memory and 1 TB of integrated flash. This hardware combination captures and serves reads and writes before they reach slower disks, trimming latency and boosting throughput during peak demand.

Four internal ports accept either SAS or SATA drives, and the controller can manage up to 128 devices in one array. That flexibility lets you mix high-performance SSDs with high-capacity hard drives, creating the blend of speed and storage that best matches each workload.

The card arrives with both standard and low-profile brackets, so it can fit into full-height rack servers as well as space-conscious chassis. It works with Windows, Linux, and Solaris operating systems. Just remember to plan for SAS cables, because they are not included in the box.
