This model uses 28 AWG conductors in a jacket that is 38 percent slimmer than the thickness of a standard Cat6a cable. The trimmer profile opens up more space between equipment, which lets cooling air circulate and makes it easier to dress large bundles inside crowded patch panels.

A foil shield surrounds the twisted pairs to block electromagnetic and radio-frequency interference. When you move high-speed data at up to 10 Gbps, that extra layer of protection can prevent the crosstalk or signal loss that slows a network to half its potential.

The cable supports Power over Ethernet, so you can run both data and up to 90 watts of power on a single line to devices such as security cameras, VoIP phones, or ceiling-mounted access points.
