Royal Doulton Penelope figurine - HN1901. This classic Royal Doulton figurine was designed by the legendary Leslie Harradine. The figure is approximately 6.75 inches tall. It was introduced in 1939 and discontinued by 1975. The back stamp on this piece dates it between 1939-1955.
Penelope was the wife of Ulysses that kept suitors at bay while waiting for Ulysses to return by undoing at night the embroidery completed during the day until her husband returned.
This Royal Doulton figurine is made of fine bone china. There is a crack and chip on the base of the figure. See pictures for details.
