Harris® RG-45 Copper-Coated Low Carbon Steel Gas Welding Rod is a general-purpose mild steel rod for tungsten inert gas or gas welding. Welding rod measures 3/32" x 36" and comes in a 5 lb tube. Welding rod is ideally used for welding low-carbon sheet, plate, pipe and automotive repair work as well as for ornamental art purposes. Welding rod meets AWS A5.2, R45 standards.
Features
- Use a neutral flame, however, a very slight excess of acetylene assures the absence of an oxidizing flame which adversely influences weld quality
- Flux is not needed, but "puddling" of the molten weld metal will bring any scale or impurities to the surface
